Located at 307 North Knollwood Drive, our building was designed with a great deal of collaboration and planning with teachers, families, other professionals and with influence from Reggio Emilia, Italy. Both Knollwood and CRC sites are located close to Virginia Tech campus and the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (CRC) with easy access to the 460 bypass.
The Knollwood site is a 14,000 square feet facility with 12 class groups for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years are in two separate buildings. The site provides enrollment for 210 children. The school environment is welcoming to both families and staff with a “home away from home” feeling. The lobby is like a living room where families are encouraged to take their time when picking up and dropping off and get to know other families.
Classrooms are warm and inviting with pictures of the children and displays of their experiences. Teachers make the children’s learning visible throughout our buildings. We want our children to feel at home while they are here at school.
Three spacious playgrounds provide age-appropriate opportunities for infants/toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children with a range of outdoor classroom opportunities
